1.   SSS/TRIO Mini Golf Outing - Tuesday, April 21st, 6 pm – 8 pm, Cryptid Mountain Miniature Golf (950 Parkway Drive, Morgantown, WV 26501)

Join us at this immersive, indoor, 13-hole miniature golf course that incorporates the elements of “cosmic” mini golf, including blacklight and state-of-the-art video and audio systems.  Pizza and transportation to and from the event will be provided.  SSS participants can use the sign up link that was included in the e-weekly email to sign up.

 2.       SSS/TRIO Graduation & Recognition Program - Thursday, April 30th, 5 pm – 7:30 pm, Gold Ballroom, Mountainlair 2nd Floor

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of all our SSS participants and recognize our graduating seniors.  Dinner will be followed by the recognition program.  Graduating seniors are allowed to bring up to 2 guests.  SSS participants can use the sign up link that was included in the e-weekly email to sign up.

3.       WVU Gold-Blue Spring Festival – Saturday, April 18, noon to 3:30 pm, Milan Puskar Stadium

West Virginia University is hosting its Football Gold-Blue Spring Festival presented by Trident Freight Solutions, on Saturday, April 18, at noon, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

 Admission to the Gold-Blue Spring Festival is free but note that all fans are required to claim a ticket by CLICKING HERE. All tickets are general admission and will be issued via mobile delivery and fans are encouraged to claim and download their tickets to their mobile wallet, prior to arriving at the stadium on game day. In lieu of the cost of admission, fans are encouraged to donate to WVU Medicine Golisano Children's at the time of checkout when claiming their ticket.

 Fan Giveaway

There will be a T-shirt giveaway at the North Gate for the first 2,000 fans.

 Jake Owen Concert

Headlining the Gold-Blue Spring Festival, for the first time ever, will be a free postgame concert on Mountaineer Field featuring Jake Owen. Admission is free to the public. The concert will take place from 2:30-3:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the game, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

 Fans and students interested in viewing the postgame concert from Mountaineer Field, will have the opportunity to do so by getting a wristband when they enter the North Gate of the stadium when gates open at 11 a.m. Wristbands will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last due to field capacity limits. Those that receive wristbands will be instructed to enter the field at a designated time postgame between approximately 1:30-2:30 p.m.

 The Gold-Blue Spring Festival, slated to begin at noon, will conclude WVU's spring football drills.  The Spring Festival will feature an abbreviated scrimmage, along with specialty drills and competitions.

 4.       WVU International Street Festival – Sunday, April 19, noon to 5 pm, Morgantown Market Place (400 Spruce Street)

This event will feature a lineup of performances and interactive cultural exhibits.  The festival provides a location to display the vibrant culture of Morgantown and WVU through an afternoon of food, music, dance, and community.  The event is free and open to the public.  Student organizations will host country-themed booths featuring traditional games, handcrafted items, and authentic culinary offerings alongside invited local food vendors.  Entertainment will include Japanese sword dancing, WVU African Drum Ensemble, Chinese music and dance, and the Latin band SabraSon. 

 5.       First-Generation Campus-Wide Celebration – Thursday, April 23, 6 pm to 8 pm, Mountainlair Ballrooms

This celebration is all about honoring the strength, resilience, and achievements of first-generation students. You'll connect with other first-gen Mountaineers, meet supportive faculty and staff who believe in your success, enjoy great food and snacks, and take part in fun, low pressure networking activities.  6.       Spring ISP (Individual Success Plan) meetings

Now is the time to schedule your required ISP meetings.  These appointments will take place in person in the SSS office (or virtually if needed).  Please allow at least 1 hour for your meeting, you will go over some important information with your counselor.  Stop by the office or call us to schedule your appointment (304-293-6629).  We look forward to seeing everyone again this year!

 7.       SSS Tutor Requests

The SSS office will once again be offering one-on-one tutoring this semester.  You will not be able to request a tutor until you complete your ISP appointment with your counselor.  Call the office at 304-293-6629 or stop by to schedule your ISP appointment.  Make sure you let us know that you need to request a tutor at that time so we can get you in to see your counselor as quickly as possible.

 9.       School Supplies Available in the SSS Office

School supplies (folders, notebooks, pens/pencils, index cards, etc.) will be available in the SSS/TRIO Office (G-30 Mountainlair) if you need them.  For those who are taking chemistry, we have plenty of goggles and aprons that you can borrow for your lab courses.  In addition, we will have snacks, coffee, and other drinks available throughout the academic year.

WVU tutoring centers are offering both in-person and online tutoring options for Spring 2026.  For details about each tutoring center and instructions about how to receive support, go to:  https://tutoring.wvu.edu/.

 The REACH Student Success Center is offering support from Peer Assistants to help you stay on track for a successful semester.  Live chat or text Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm.  Beyond Business hours, a virtual chatbot is available to answer questions.  Text 304-396-7241 or use Live Chat at https://studentsuccess.wvu.edu/ to get started. 

 StudentLingo is an online platform that offers 20-minute, on-demand workshops focusing on a variety of skills needed to achieve at the college level.  You can choose from 50 different topics, and each workshop comes with an action plan that you can download to help put these new skills to work.  To access StudentLingo, go to https://studentlingo.com/wvu and use your WVU username and password to log in.  

                              The Student Support Services/TRIO (SSS) program supports WVU and Undergraduate Education as a student-centered environment by providing individualized services to students who are either first-generation, income eligible, or have a learning or physical disability. Based on their needs and goals, SSS assists them with academic accomplishments and social and cultural enrichment so they may successfully complete baccalaureate degrees.
