SSS Event:  Lunch & Learn - New FAFSA Workshop, Wednesday, January 31st, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Monongahela Room, Mountainlair 2nd Floor

Have questions about the new FAFSA, or aren’t even sure where to start with the recent changes?  Come speak with a financial aid officer and file your 24-25 FAFSA at our lunch and learn event.  Lunch will be provided to participants. Make sure to bring your laptop!  

 Cultural Dinner:  Wed 2/14/24, 6 pm – 8 pm, Peking House Restaurant (1125 Van Voorhis Rd, Morgantown)

Don’t spend Valentine’s Day alone – feel the love of your SSS friends at a fun cultural dinner!  Come experience a variety of authentic Chinese foods and learn about a cultural region.  Seating is limited.  

 National TRIO Day of Service:  Thurs 2/22/24, 12 pm – 4 pm, Monongahela Room (Lair – 2nd Floor)

Help us celebrate National TRIO Day by volunteering with us to provide service to a group in Monongalia County.  This year we’ll be creating artwork and décor items for residents of Sundale Nursing Home.  Supplies will be provided.  

Financial Literacy/Grad School Prep:  Wed 3/20/24, 4 pm – 6 pm, Laurel Room (Lair – 2nd Floor)

This workshop will prepare you for the graduate school application process.  Topics include finding the right school for you, personal statements, funding, and more.  Highly recommended for sophomores and juniors considering graduate school! 

Spring Cultural Trip:  Sat 3/23/24, 7 am – 11 pm, Columbus, OH

Tour of the Ohio State Univ graduate programs and lunch on campus. We’ll visit the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, ending with dinner and exploring at the historic German Village.  

The Wow Factory Pottery Painting:  Wed 4/10/24, 5 pm – 7 pm, Mountainlair Games Area (Side Pocket)

Explore your creative side by painting pottery with us!  The Wow Factory will bring materials to the Mountainlair - all expenses will be covered by the SSS office.  Seating is limited – sign up required.  

Theater Performance – Cinderella:  Thurs 4/18/24, 7:30 pm, WVU Creative Arts Center

This musical performance is presented by the WVU School of Theatre and Dance.  Seating is limited.  Sign-up is required.  

Graduation & Recognition Program:  Thurs 4/25/24, 5 pm – 7:30 pm, Gold Ballroom, Mountainlair

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of all our SSS participants and recognize our graduating seniors.  Dinner will be followed by the recognition program.
